About The Clinton Foundation
Building on a lifetime of public service, President Bill Clinton established the William J. Clinton Foundation with the mission to improve global health, strengthen economies worldwide, promote healthier childhoods, and protect the environment by fostering partnerships among governments, businesses, nongovernmental organizations, and private citizens — leveraging their expertise, resources, and passions — to turn good intentions into measurable results.
To accomplish its goals, the Clinton Foundation has established separate initiatives, each with a distinct mission but all reflecting President Clinton’s founding vision: to implement sustainable programs that improve access worldwide to investment, opportunity, and lifesaving services now and for future generations. Working in diverse geographic regions and responding to local needs, the initiatives address targeted challenges in the Foundation’s key areas of focus: economic empowerment, education, environment and energy, health systems, and nutrition.
Because of this work, world leaders have made 2,100 Commitments to Action to improve more than 400 million lives around the world; 13,000 American schools are providing kids with healthy food choices in an effort to eradicate childhood obesity; 10,500 African farmers have improved their crops to feed 30,000 people; 47 cities around the world are implementing energy efficiency projects to eliminate 120,000 tons of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere each year; $20 million is being invested in small- and medium-sized businesses in Colombia; and 4 million people have benefited from lifesaving HIV/AIDS medications.
Across all initiatives, the Clinton Foundation emphasizes:
